Aaron DeKalb joined the Duke University women’s volleyball program in February 2025 as an assistant coach. He came to Duke following two stints at Cornell University (2015-2018 and 2021-2023) where he helped recruit and develop multiple All-Ivy athletes, including Joanna Cheng, Casey Justice, and Jill Bennett, and supported a major turnaround for the Big Red’s program in 2016 with a doubling of their win total.
As a student-athlete, DeKalb played at Belmont Abbey College, where he was a team captain and ranked second nationally in NCAA Division I/II for digs per set. He then transferred to Grand View University, where he helped win a conference championship in 2014 and a third-place finish at the NAIA Nationals in 2015. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Grand View (2015) and a master’s degree in sports management from Bournemouth University (2020). At Duke, DeKalb brings a strong background in defensive specialization, recruiting acumen, and experience in building program culture.
