Elise Higgins is a proud graduate of Columbus State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and The University of West Georgia, where she completed her Master of Science in Sport Management. Elise is also the head competition cheerleading coach at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.
With over 12 years of involvement in the Miss America Opportunity, Elise is honored to serve as Miss Northeast Georgia and will compete for the title of Miss Georgia this June.
A lifelong athlete, Elise was a competitive cheerleader for 15 years. Her experience on the mat not only shaped her discipline and leadership but also sparked her passion for her community service initiative: “Let’s Talk About It: The Women Behind the Sport.” Through this initiative, Elise advocates for improved mental health resources for student-athletes while championing equal representation and recognition for female athletes across all sports.
When she isn’t working with student-athletes or preparing for competition, Elise enjoys weightlifting, dancing, and coaching cheerleading, where she shares her love for the sport with the next generation.
Her ultimate goal is to use her platform to amplify the voices of female athletes and empower them to break barriers both on and off the field.
